KFC is releasing a new sandwich of death, and I mean this quite literally, for it sports a Hummer-esque 1.38 grams of sodium, despite the relatively low calorie count. With announcements like this, I simply must question the gall behind the health insurance industry's continued insistence that it's somehow our fault for increasing medical costs. (I suppose if you interpret our as everyone not in the health industry, they might technically be correct!) Humans are social animals, and peer pressure, influenced particularly well by advertisements, dominates all of our actions at some level. Therefore, the mere existence of this atrocity will attract people to consume it — people who really ought to know better. As a result of the inexorable increase in hospital stays, health insurance rates will inexorably rise as well.

I would be really interested in reports linking the availability of this sandwich to coronary dysfunctions and/or increased incidents of high blood pressure. Thanks, KFC, for rendering this country even more worse-off than it was before, like we really needed the extra kick in the chest.
